Rangla Punjab By Feroz Khan & Gagan Kokri

This track is our small effort to push out a message against the adverse affects of Intoxicant abuse. The problem of intoxicant abuse is not something that should be associated to Sons and Daughters of Guru Nanak Dev Ji. As Punjab, the very place on this planet where Sikhi blossomed, is now savaged by Drug Abuse and Alcohol abuse we must all ensure our future generations have education as to why our Gurus restricted the use of intoxicants for Sikhs.

Drugs/Alcohol have almost an immediate effect on the brain and will alter ones mood. Drinking alcohol makes people feel relaxed, happy and even euphoric, but in reality these are all Depressants. Depressants are psychoactive drugs which temporarily diminish the function or activity of a specific part of the body or mind. Due to their effects typically having a “down” quality to them, depressants are also occasionally referred to as “downers”.

In Contrast Contemplation of the Shabad and Si’Mran in Akaal Purakhs Shabad provides the pinnacle High achievable in human form. Yet there is no downer.

One person brings a full bottle, and another fills his cup. Drinking wine, his intelligence departs, and madness enters his mind; he cannot distinguish between his own and others, and he is struck down by his Lord and Master. Drinking it, he forgets his Lord and Master, and he is punished in the Court of the Lord. Do not drink the false wine at all, if it is in your power. O Nanak, the True Guru comes and meets the mortal; by His Grace, one obtains the True Wine. He shall dwell forever in the Love of the Lord Master, and obtain a seat in the Mansion of His Presence

May Guru Nanak Maharaj bless all the people suffering in this world with Naam.
